If y'all know me, ya know that I write on a daily basis. I do it all the time, its a part of my life. Over the 15 years of my existence I have learnt that I have different methods of writing. Some of the them can be very weird. Im going to start with story writing. Everyone knows that I write fanfiction. To write this fan fiction a plot, characters, story, etc, is needed. All of these things do not always just appear out of nowhere though, even if they did they always need edits and tweeks. The way for me to start to generally want to write a fanfic or story. If I have an idea I'll usually build on that. If I don't I need find one. The way I 'find' them can be percieved as weird. I sit down comfortably where I can lie back. I make sure that im alone, in a none-awkward silence. I then slowly breathe in and out. I lean back so that I can stay in that position. Doing this clears my mind, allows me to think. In this state I sit and imagine. Asking myself, 'what world do I want to show people?', 'would this entertain someone?', 'how can I make them believe that this place I'm imagining is real?'. Etc. So I float (more like run) through every possible idea that floods my mind. So many appear and disappear within seconds. This method has always worked for me. It can take a while but it's always worth it. It helps to organise thoughts. Once I have a very thin and adjustable plot/idea I build on it. My first though is 'what can happen?'. So I look at an idea and ignore characters and places. I think about what is going to happen only. I use my technique from before if need be but that is a rarity at this point. After a slight plot, I float to the characters. I imagine who the main character is and make a relations tree, kinda, based off of it. Every character in the book then has a profile written for them. Their looks and personality are vaguely described. Finally the places are made. With characters and plot ready a shop or home can be made. It will suit their personality and story, there's no way that it can't. A building description is made and I have my plan. If I forget anything whilst writhing the story then it's all there. From then on I plan a chapter, vaguely, then I write it to fit the best way possible. After writting it I have a few hour break then come back to proof read. Once that is done, I write a small description of the chapter for my self so I know what is happening. I have a way of writing songs too. There are two ways to start a song. The lyrics and the music. With me it depends how I start. I may start with some old lyrics to finally give them a use, or I could make up a random tune and build from that. A lot of the time, lyrics will appear out of no where and I'll rush for a piece of paper to write them down so that they're not forgotten. This leads to a build up of lyrics in my pencil case, note books, reading books, on the tables, etc. These lyrics can be picked and then changed or adjusted or added to create a song. Other times I will pick up my guitar and choose a random chord set and start playing. I wander my mind whilst playing and speak (more like sing) What ever comes to mind. It always works for me So there you have it. Nothing much to it. Thanks for reading.
