The Blackwood Files is a horror web cosplay series based on the PlayStation 4 exclusive game "Until Dawn".
The game Until Dawn is about 8 people who go up to a mountain lodge one year after two of their friends / sisters disappeared on the same mountain. They believe they are going the for closure however , they could all die based on you're choices within the game.
The re-imagining of the game was created by the youtube channel "Nyx Rising Industries" and some of their friends as the cast.
In The Blackwood Files quite alot of the plot points are changed. Characters deaths are changed. In the game the events take place all in one night besides the opening sequence however, in the series it takes place across multiple nights.
The main idea behind the series was to be a comedy adaptation as they didn't believe they could make horror. However , it developed into horror after they realised it was possible. They also made it as a found footage film as it was all improvised to give genuine reactions to certain points but also still kept the main ideas that they wanted to keep in.

This series is in my opinion one of the best web series' on the internet purely because of the fact it was almost entirely improvised.
One thing I also love about the series is the fact that they spent a week in a rented lodge always in character and barely ever called each other by their actual names.
So , in conclusion this series is one of the best adaptations of a game I've ever seen for many obvious reasons.
